Description

Purpose:

FinMark Category 6 (Cat.6) four-pair UTP cable is intended for internal use in Fast Ethernet (100BASE-TX) and Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) cable networks, as well as at a distance (up to 55 meters) at a speed of 10Gbps (10G BASE-T). This type of cable is widely used for connecting WiFi access points with a data transfer rate of 2.5Gbps and 5Gbps; for connecting devices with a 10G BASE-T or 10G SFP interface and SFP-RJ45-10G BASE-T modules (switches, server network adapters) using FinMark Category 6 (Cat.6) UTP cable patch cords with RJ-45 connectors.

The cable is intended for fixed installation inside premises, stations, buildings, equipment.

Design:

The cable consists of 4 pairs of conductors twisted together. Conductors are copper with a diameter of 0.57 mm (23 AWG). Conductor insulation is high-density polyethylene. Conductor pairs are separated by a plastic cross-shaped insert. The outer sheath of the cable is made of halogen-free, flame-retardant plastic (LSZH) orange. The nominal outer diameter of the cable is 6.0 mm.

Generally accepted color identification of conductors:

  • pair 1: white-blue ⁄ blue
  • pair 2: white-orange ⁄ orange
  • pair 3: white-green ⁄ green
  • pair 4: white-brown ⁄ brown

Packaging:

The cable is packed in cardboard boxes of 305 m with the ability to freely pull the end of the cable to its full length, which allows you to use only the necessary part, without completely unpacking the coil. Recommendations for choosing a quality cable can be found in this article.
