Description

Application:

For installation in soils of categories 1–3 (without frost heave), in cable ducts and conduits, with the option of remote power supply.

Design:

A cable containing 1–4 optical modules, each capable of holding up to 24 optical fibers, and 2 (or 4) insulated copper conductors with a diameter of 1.2 mm for remote power supply, wound around a central strength member. It is a modification of the LTxxx-SM-02 design.

The voids between the optical modules and the copper conductors are filled with a hydrophobic water-blocking compound. In cables with a small number of fibers, so-called “filler” modules are used in place of the missing optical modules. The armor layer is made of corrugated steel tape and, in addition to providing mechanical protection, serves as a moisture barrier that prevents moisture diffusion through the polymer sheaths toward the optical fiber. The outer sheath is made of UV-stabilized high-density polyethylene.

The cable is filled with Fujikura FutureGuide—LWP optical fiber (compliant with ITU-T G.652.D); you can view its specifications here. Upon customer request, the cable can be manufactured with fibers compliant with ITU-T G.655.
