Description

Purpose:

Self-supporting, fully dielectric optical cable ADSS (All Dielectric Self-supporting) is intended for suspension on supports of communication lines, contact network of electric transport or power lines at the given electric field potential at the suspension points not exceeding 12 kV.

Design:

A cable with several optical modules wound around a central power dielectric element, which can accommodate up to 48 optical fibers. The space inside the modules is filled with hydrophobic gel. There are water-repellent fibers between the modules. In a cable with a small number of fibers, so-called “filling” modules are used instead of the missing optical modules. A water-blocking tape is applied over the cable core.

The self-supporting properties of the cable are given by a layer of high-strength Kevlar (aramid) threads located under the sheath. The outer sheath is made of UV-stabilized high-density polyethylene.

The high value of the permissible tensile force (3 kN) allows you to suspend such a cable over large spans – up to 95 m, depending on installation conditions and environmental factors.

The cable contains Fujikura FutureGuide – LWP optical fiber (compliant with ITU-T G.652.D).
