Description

Application:

This small-diameter armoured cable is optimised for indoor installation, including vertical routing, in FTTH networks in residential buildings or office centres. It can be used for inter-unit and inter-rack connections at telecom nodes and data centres.

Enhanced resistance to mechanical damage (accidental impact, crushing, tension, rodent damage) allows the cable to be used for temporary connection of optical equipment in field conditions.

A single-fibre cable of this type can be used to make armoured patch cords.

It is convenient for use as an “optical feeder” connecting baseband unit (BBU) equipment to the remote radio unit (RRU) in FTTA (“fibre to the antenna”) systems.

Construction:

The cable contains 1, 2, or 4 optical fibres in a tight buffer coating of Ø 0.9 mm (for 1 optical fibre) or Ø 0.6 mm (for 2 and 4 optical fibres), laid loosely in the central part of the cable inside a flexible protective stainless steel spiral sheath. A layer of reinforcing aramid yarns is applied on top. The outer jacket is made of polyvinyl chloride compound (PVC) or white halogen-free low-smoke compound (LSZH). For outdoor installation, a black UV-stabilised high-density polyethylene jacket is used.

On request, the jacket can be supplied in one of 12 colour options (blue, orange, green, brown, grey, white, red, black, yellow, violet, pink, sky blue).

The optical cable is fitted with Fujikura FutureGuide optical fibre, compliant with ITU-T G.657.A2 requirements. At the customer’s request, the cable can be manufactured with ITU-T G.652.D and ITU-T G.657.A1 fibres.
